Men's Nike

Nike co-founder Phil Knight wanted the logo to convey motion, and even resemble the wings of the Greek goddess of victory, Nike. And since Nike debuted the Swoosh in 1971, it’s said all of that on men’s, women’s, and kids’ Nike shoes and apparel in just one stamp.

Shoes you can use

Nike has been a worldwide leader in running since its founding in 1964. It introduced the running world to Air cushioning with the Air Tailwind in 1978 and brought it to basketball with the Air Force 1 in 1982.

So popular was this new technology, Nike touched off what it called the Air Revolution in 1987 with the original Air Max running shoe. It was the first to make that Air visible, and new looks released every year. Some of the most popular models are still available as the Air Max 90, 95, and 97.

In addition to cushioning athletes with Air, Nike was wrapping their feet in a neoprene sock inside a shoe called a Huarache, which was modeled after ancient Mexican tribal footwear.

On the courts, when the Air Force 1 burst onto the scene, it was popularized by six NBA stars shown wearing flight suits on a runway. That imagery planted the seeds with athletes of all ages that maybe they could catch a little more air by wearing some Air. Those seeds hit full bloom when a young basketball phenom named Michael Jordan signed with Nike in 1984 and began taking flight in his own signature model of Nike basketball shoe.

That larger-than-life spirit lives on in current generations of pro stars, from LeBron James and his signature kicks, to Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and more.

Nike has had athletes covered for decades, whether it was working out or chilling out. Fleece hoodies – both pullover and zip-up – can keep you warm throughout a workout, or just get you started. The Windrunner line, which debuted in 1978 with its familiar shell and lining and chevron design, remains a popular staple of any athletic rotation.
